Gamaluddin Scholarship in LibraryScience: Established in memory of Dr. Ahmad Gamaluddin, anoted educator, librarian, scholar, and kind mentor who servedon <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s library science faculty for thirty years.The award is available to all qualified graduate students, bothfull- and part-time, who have demonstrable serious interestin international/multicultural librarianship. Selection criteriaincludes enrollment in the MSLS program for full- or parttimestudy; completion of at least six graduate credit hourswith a cumulative QPA of 3.5, and a written essay explainingapplicant’s understanding and commitment to internationaland/or multicultural librarianship and how the award will helpachieve a career that will focus on either. Selection is made by thedepartment scholarship committee and payment is administeredby the university’s student accounts office.Charles R. Flack Scholarship in Library Science:Established in memory of Charles R. Flack, former head ofthe Department of Library Science at <strong>Clarion</strong>. Offered to asophomore or junior enrolled in the Bachelor of Science inEducation degree at <strong>Clarion</strong> or in the Master of Science inLibrary Science degree program for full-time continuous study.Further criteria include evidence of professional potential inlibrarianship based upon earned grades and a written statementof personal and professional goals as well as significantcontributions to the purposes and activities of the Departmentof Library Science. Preference shall be given to a physicallychallenged student who meets the above criteria.Elizabeth A. Rupert <strong>Graduate</strong> Scholarship in LibraryScience: Established in honor of Dr. Elizabeth A. Rupert, analumna of <strong>Clarion</strong> (’59) who also served as dean of the Collegeof Library Science from 1971 until her retirement. The purpose ofthe scholarship is to give personal encouragement and financialsupport to a promising graduate student seeking a career inlibrarianship by completing the Master of Science in LibraryScience degree at <strong>Clarion</strong>.H.W. Wilson Scholarship (<strong>Graduate</strong> Students): Awardstotaling $5,000 are made every five years to graduate studentsmajoring in library science. Recipients are chosen on the basisof academic excellence and financial need. Selection is made bythe departmental scholarship committee, and payment is madeby the H.W. Wilson Foundation through the <strong>Clarion</strong> <strong>University</strong>Foundation.School of NursingElizabeth M.
