Dear Customer!Selecting fine audio equipment such as the unit you’ve just purchased is only the start of your musical enjoyment. Now it’s time toconsider how you can maximize the fun and excitement your equipment offers. This manufacturer and the Electronic IndustriesAssociation’s Consumer Electronics Group want you to et the most out of your equipment by playing it at a safe level that lets thesound come through loud and clear without annoying blaring distortion—and most importantly, without affecting your sensitivehearing.Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “comfort level” adapts to higher volumes of sound; what sounds “normal” canactually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard against this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearingadapts. To establish a safe level:• Start your volume control at a low setting.• Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, and without distortion.Once you have established a comfortable sound level:• Set the dial and leave it there.Taking a minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in the future. After all, we want you listening for alifetime.

INTRODUCTIONYour Autotek Street Machine amplifier has been designed to give you very high performance, and valuable features, at a reasonableprice. Take the time to read over this brief set of instructions, and you will get full enjoyment from your system.INSTALLATIONInstallation quality will affect system performance and reliability. We recommend that you have a professional car audio dealer installthis high power amplifier.Amplifiers are usually mounted in the trunk or cargo area of the vehicle. Be sure to locate the amplifier so that water or rain will notcontact it directly. Mount the amplifier so that air will circulate around it to cool it. Mount the amplifier, where possible, on a verticalsurface, with cooling fins positioned vertically. Use the amplifier for a template and mark locations of mounting holes. Drill 9/64”holes for mounting screws. Inspect underside of panels to be certain that you are not drilling into car wiring, fuel, hydraulic, or airconditioning lines.NEVER OPERATE AMPLIFIER UNMOUNTEDThe amplifier should shift and cause serious injury.Keep power wiring short in length, and use 8 AWG cable. Speaker cable should be at least 14 AWG. Route power wiring away fromspeaker and signal wiring. Make a good ground connection by removing paint. The amplifier has electronic short circuit and overheat protection. If the amplifier should switch off by itself, turn off yourradio/cassette or radio/CD player and check speaker wiring. If amplifier remains off, and wiring installation and speakers are okay, amplifier is either overheating or requires service. In the case of over-heating, simply reduce volume of music, or mount amplifier forbetter cooling.

+12V POWERThis wire is usually connected directly to the battery terminal or to a point in the ignition wiring that does not turn off with the ignitionkey. Ensure that the + power supply wire is fused via an assigned fuse either in line with the + power supply wire or the via thevehicle fuse box.GROUNDThis wire is the electrical ground and must be fastened securely to the vehicle negative terminal—either to the battery negative or tothe vehicle chassis. The best method is to use a self-threading sheet metal screw, since the threads cut into bare metal. Ensure that all paint, coating orother insulations are removed from around the hole area and using a self-tapping screw securely affix the bare wire ends to the vehiclechassis.REMOTEMany radios or other music sources have an output terminal for connection of the remote turn-on of the power amplifier. If a radiodoesn’t have a remote turn-on feature, then you can use the antenna relay wire which activates the antenna motor. But you must takenotice if the antenna is lowered when the tape player is operating. IN this case, you cannot use the antenna relay wire to operate theremote turn-on.

CAUTIONFirstly make +12V wire connection, secondly the ground connection and finally the remote connection.Furthermore the +12V wire must always be fused at the battery end for protection against possible damage. If you need to replace the power fuse, replace it with an identical value shown on the surface of the fuse.Using a fuse of a different type or rating may result in a serious hazard. This amplifier has one type of signal input terminal. RCA connector for low level inputs. Adjustment of input levels is accomplishedby the gain control of both channels. Adjusting this control allows the amplifier gain to be controlled so as to match and balance bothchannel. The RCA input connector should be used when connecting the radio/cassette lineout and this connection is usually made by usingRCA-RCA connector wires.

The amplifier can be used in the STEREO or BRIDGE mode as shown in Fig. 3. The speaker wires should be connected to the speakerpush terminals on the amplifier. Notice that most speakers have a polarity marking such as a “+” or a dot on the speaker terminals andthese markings denote the positive terminals of the speaker and are used as a guide to phase the speakers. Improper phasing causes aloss of bass response. When used in the BRIDGE mode the speaker wires should be connected to the output terminal of the speaker shown as marking of thepanel. (Refer to Fig. 4, Fig. 5)When operating 4-speaker system, the impedance of speaker is an important factor. It may cause the excessive heat radiation of theamplifier and the protection circuit will be operated to prevent the damages. In this case, you must reduce the volume to the properlevel. The amplifier can be used in the 5CH as shown in Fig. 3. The speaker wires should be connected to the speaker push terminals on theamplifier.Notice that most speakers have a polarity marking such as a “+” or a dot on the speaker terminals and these markings denote thepositive terminals of the speaker and are used as a guide to phase the speakers. Improper phasing causes a loss of bass response. When operating 2-speaker system, the impedance of speaker is an important factor.

FEATURES AND CONTROLS1. PROTECT INDICATOR. Indicates that a fault condition exists. Turn amp off, correct fault, and turn amp back on.2. POWER INDICATOR. Indicates that amplifier is on, and no fault conditions exist.3. CROSSOVER CONTROL. Adjusts crossover frequency of LOW PASS output only, from 50Hz to 500Hz.4. INPUT LEVEL CONTROL. It matches the sensitivity of the amplifier input to the output level of the head unit.5. CROSSOVER SWITCH. When in FULL position, output is full range. When in HIGH position, output is high pass, andfrequency is fixed at 150Hz. When switch is in FULL BOOST position, 6dB is boosted in LOW frequency.6. BASS BOOST SWITCH. When BASS BOOST is switched on, 6dB is boosted in channel 5.7. CHANNEL SELECTION SWITCH: When 1/2/3/4CH are connected with RCA input connectors, put the channel switch onand output comes through 5CH. When channel switch is off, RCA input connector should be connected with 5CH for theoutput from 5CH.8. LINE INPUTS. Low level input is provided by jacks.9. FUSE. This protects the amplifier from damage if internal failure occurs. Model 5600X: 30A x 210. POWER CONNECTION. Connects 12 volt B+ power wire from car battery.11. REMOTE CONNECTION: Connects to power antenna, accessory, or power amplifier lead from radio.12. GROUND CONNECTION. Connect to good chassis ground.13. SPEAKER TERMINALS. Follow drawing as marked for connection to speakers.
