Downpour is a film about family and the search for love in aholy city devoid of God.DIRECTORS’ STATEMENTI was born in Jerusalem. For years I grew up in a city that never ceases to steal the world’s focus and mediaattention, a city, which many consider a symbol, an ideal, a coveted and sacred concept. But to me, Jerusalem isfirst and foremost a city of childhood, of coming of age and of people trying to survive, to live, to love. It is myhome, and Downpour is the story of that home. Through the eye of its teenage protagonist Or I try to tell thestory of life in a city overburdened by the history of its dead; of the tug of war between the explosiveness ofyouth and Jerusalem’s explosive streets; and of the rage at the unfairness of life, inherited to us by our elders. Asa filmmaker, I hope to recreate this delicate tiptoe which once was my own, and is unfortunately still thebalancing act of many.GUM FILMSGum Films is a Tel Aviv based production house for feature films and documentaries.
