Theyset up some very elaborate practical jokes against the people who represent the problem. The people who are chosen to be their “targets” are typical samples of this dysfunctional society: Agapi withher graceless behaviour; Lieutenant Matrozos who expresses his patriotism in the clumsiest possible way; andfinally, Police Officer Anastasis who secretly writes poems and keeps them well hidden on the hard drive of hisdesktop computer. All the above contribute with their own special way to deform the local community andmake it as appalling as possible. At least, that is what the six friends believe. As time goes by and the local media start dealing with these events, these pranks are gradually consideredas a growing threat to the local society.DIRECTORS’ STATEMENTMy main aim by adapting the book Lostre (an anagram of the word crazy) by Lenos Cristidis into a feature film isto both satirize and criticize Greek modern day society. The international title of the script is Cajón, which literally means drawer in Spanish. However, the Cajóndrum is a wooden box used as a musical instrument by the first African slaves in America. The fact that theycould easily disguise this instrument as a seat or a stool, when needed, is highly related to the subject of thefilm, which is personal freedom in a conservative environment.I believe that Cajón can become one of the most thought-provoking satires of the Balkans that are strugglingto find their identity; this satire blended with some sharp humour can be the basis for a comedy which willcombine social insight with commercial success.N-ORASIS AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTIONSPRODUCER’S CONTACT INFORMATIONN-ORASIS AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTIONST. +30 2109230664M. +30 6945 491402athens@n-orasis.grsixties@n-orasis.grwww.n-orasis.grN-Orasis is an independent audiovisual company, founded in Thessaloniki in 1995 by Yannis Exintaris, ChristosNikoleris and Dimitris Stambolis.
