She has directed several award winningshorts and her first feature film Hard Goodbyes: My Father,was screened at the 55 th Locarno International Film Festivalwhere the film won the Best Actor Award and the EcumenicalPrize. She taught film direction at the University of Aristotleand the New York College of Athens as well as given lectureson Women Filmmakers in the Universities of Oklahoma andLos Angeles. She is currently developing her second featurefilm September which was selected at the MediterraneanFilm Institute and the Nipkow program.Penny PanayotopoulouScreenwriter / Directorpresent at BFWRITER’S CVKallia Papadaki has a BA in Economics (Bard College, AnnandaleNY) and an MA in Intl Economics and Finance,(GSIEF Brandeis University). She obtained her Film StudiesDegree, Stavrakos Film School in 2009. She has publishedseveral short stories and poems. In <strong>2010</strong> she was awardedbest newcomer author for her first novel The Backlot Sound(Polis Publications 2009). In June 2003 together with Karl Baumgartner heset up the film production company Pallas Film in Halle,Germany.
