The Serbian government decided to organize a mass protestin Belgrade.Luka, a seventeen year-old, who lives in an impoverished industrial town on the outskirts of Belgrade, becomesthe leader of a hooligan group supporting a local football club. The football club is run by Tihomir, a controversialbusinessman related to corrupted politicians who instruct Luka to collect “voluntary financial donations” for theteam. Reluctantly he agrees only to find himself caught in a web of lies and betrayal. Stefana, is new at schooland was brought back from Switzerland because of her troubling behavior. Stefana and Luka begin a passionateromance, brought together by their love for fast cars and reckless behavior. Unfortunately, she also falls into Tihomir’sweb and ends up being blackmailed into doing his dirty work. Luka and Stefana’s fates intertwine andresult in an explosion of violence which ends tragically during the protest in Belgrade.DIRECTORS’ STATEMENTOne event left a significant mark in my memory. The night that Belgrade burned. Rage and noise triumphedthat night. Anarchy caused by the young people’s brewing dissatisfaction exploded… My wish was to return tothis night and make a film about yet another lost generation in the aftermath of Serbia’s transition.This is a film about growing up in a small Serbian town, in a society of lost values, where corruption,immorality and abuse of power prosper. Through the tragic romance of Luka and Stefana, prejudice, envy andnationalism are reflected. The film is told from their perspective in a documentary style, very familiar to modernBritish social issue films, were we see their troubles with minimal distance. Their two stories intertwine andevolve, creating a melodramatic plot within the social drama of their coming of age.SENSE PRODUCTIONSense Production, founded in April 2010, is a Belgrade based production company, specialized in Film & Videoproduction.Sense Production is a company with a mission to produce modern films based on up-to-date and socially importanttopics.
