The <strong>Champion</strong> • Wednesday 19 June 2013Fundraiserrememberspupil wholost his life atHillsboroughReport by David RavenA SCHOOL has raised over£1,000 in memory of a formerpupil who died in theHillsborough disaster.Sacred Heart student StevenRobinson lost his life on April 15in 1989 after poor stadiumorganisation resulted in a crushthat killed 96 people.To honour Steven, Sacred Heartheld a collection which raised£1,106 for the HillsboroughFamily Support Group to helpthem in their legal battle forjustice.Chairman of the group MargaretAspinall said: “On behalf of theHillsborough Family SupportGroup I thank all of the staff andpupils for this wonderfuldonation.”Steven’s younger brother Peter,pictured with Steven, presentedthe cheque to the charity.Margaret added: “As you allknow we had a long and stressful24 year fight to get to the truthbut support from everyone alongthe way has been very muchappreciated.“The year 2012 was a fantasticyear for us as not only was thetruth revealed by the panel butthe despicable verdicts werequashed.“As we now move on to our nextbattle for justice andaccountability, it is good to knowthat we have your support andthat you are continuing to keepyour pupils aware of the events ofHillsborough.”The Robinson family alsothanked pupils for their supportSteven Robinson at Anfield withyounger brother Peter whopresented the chequeand there are now plans to have amemorial bench installed at theschool in memory of Steven.Head of RE David Moorheadsaid: “I think it is very importantas a Christian community that westand up and fight againstinjustice.
