Foreign citizens who are not required to pass <strong>the</strong> Slovene examC<strong>and</strong>idates who have finished primary <strong>and</strong>/or secondary school in Slovenia or a bilingual schoolabroad do not have to pass <strong>the</strong> Slovene language exam.LIMITATION OF ENROLMENT AND THE CRITERIA FOR SELECTIONIf <strong>the</strong> number of c<strong>and</strong>idates who applied <strong>for</strong> <strong>enrolment</strong> is greater that <strong>the</strong> number of announced<strong>enrolment</strong> slots, <strong>the</strong> higher education institutions can adopt a decision on <strong>the</strong> limitation of<strong>enrolment</strong>. The study programmes with <strong>the</strong> limitation of <strong>enrolment</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> number of <strong>application</strong>ssubmitted shall be published on <strong>the</strong> website on August 12, 2013.THE SELECTION PROCEDUREIf <strong>the</strong> number of c<strong>and</strong>idates applying significantly greater than <strong>the</strong> number of announced <strong>enrolment</strong>slots <strong>for</strong> Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship <strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong>eign citizens from countries that are notEU members, <strong>the</strong> c<strong>and</strong>idates are selected according to <strong>the</strong> criteria of each study programme inaccordance with <strong>the</strong> call <strong>for</strong> <strong>enrolment</strong>. The criteria <strong>for</strong> selection are defined in <strong>the</strong> Call <strong>for</strong>Enrolment of <strong>the</strong> individual study programmes.Evaluation of secondary school per<strong>for</strong>mance from <strong>for</strong>eign certificates is carried out by <strong>the</strong> HigherEducation Application <strong>and</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation Service (Foreigners button – Rules on evaluating secondaryschool per<strong>for</strong>mance from <strong>for</strong>eign certificates).ENROLMENTDuring <strong>the</strong> <strong>first</strong> deadline period, <strong>the</strong> Higher Education Application <strong>and</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation Service will send<strong>the</strong> decision regarding <strong>the</strong> result of <strong>the</strong> selection <strong>procedure</strong> via mail to <strong>the</strong> indicated address <strong>for</strong>notifications by August 31, 2012, <strong>and</strong> during <strong>the</strong> second deadline period, <strong>the</strong> decision will be sentby individual higher education institutions after <strong>the</strong> <strong>application</strong> deadline expires.C<strong>and</strong>idates who have been accepted during <strong>the</strong> <strong>first</strong> <strong>application</strong> deadline period must enrol bySeptember 30, 2013, <strong>and</strong> those accepted during <strong>the</strong> second deadline period by October 10,2013.SCHOOL FEEForeign citizens from countries that are not member states of <strong>the</strong> European Union are required topay a school fee <strong>for</strong> full-time undergraduate courses. As a rule, <strong>the</strong> school fee should be paid in itsentirety at <strong>the</strong> time of <strong>enrolment</strong> <strong>into</strong> <strong>the</strong> faculty <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> current academic <strong>year</strong>. The amount of <strong>the</strong>fee is determined by <strong>the</strong> higher education institution <strong>and</strong> is equal to <strong>the</strong> school fee <strong>for</strong> part-timecourses <strong>for</strong> citizens of <strong>the</strong> RS.The price list is available on <strong>the</strong> website www.uni-lj.si/studij_na_univerzi/cenik_storitev.aspx. Theschool fee does not include <strong>the</strong> compulsory health insurance. The insurance must be arrangedbe<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> studies start.The following are not required to pay school fees <strong>for</strong> full-time undergraduate courses:<strong>for</strong>eign citizens with permanent residence in <strong>the</strong> RS who <strong>the</strong>mselves or <strong>the</strong>irparents/guardians are taxpayers in <strong>the</strong> RS,Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship,citizens of countries with which <strong>the</strong> Republic of Slovenia has concluded bilateral ormultilateral agreements regarding cooperation in <strong>the</strong> area of education or reciprocity(Croatia, Montenegro <strong>and</strong> Macedonia),scholarship holders of <strong>the</strong> ministry competent <strong>for</strong> higher education or of an authorisedprovider of such scholarships (Javni sklad za razvoj kadrov in štipendije – Slovene HumanResources Development <strong>and</strong> Scholarship Fund), website: http://www.sklad-kadri.sii/),All <strong>for</strong>eign citizens are required to pay <strong>the</strong> scholarship fee <strong>for</strong> part-time courses.5

Such supporting documentation is <strong>the</strong> European HealthInsurance Card (EHIC) or a certificate substituting <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> EHIC, which are issued by <strong>the</strong> competentcountry <strong>and</strong> a card MEDICARE upon presentation of a passport <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> citizens of Australia.For insured citizens from o<strong>the</strong>r countries with which an international agreement on social insurancehas been reached, it applies that in o<strong>the</strong>r contracting states <strong>the</strong>y only have <strong>the</strong> right to useemergency health care services. The Republic of Slovenia has concluded bilateral Agreements onSocial Insurance with <strong>the</strong> Republic of Croatia, <strong>the</strong> Republic of Macedonia, <strong>the</strong> Republic of Bosnia<strong>and</strong> Herzegovina, <strong>the</strong> Republic of Serbia <strong>and</strong> Monte Negro.
