Thoughtful DesignDynamica considered every detail in the design of HaloDNAmaster, for example, the cuvette holder can be removedfor washing and it is autoclavable for decontamination.Furthermore, a cover protects both the cuvette holder and thedetector from dust and dirt when the unit is not in use. Theside mounted cuvette rack is detachable for easy cleaningand a smaller footprint if bench space is at a premium.Ultramicro CellThe Ultramicro cell utilises fibre-optic technology and isdesigned for measurement and analysis of extremely smallvolumes of DNA/RNA samples with high accuracy andoutstanding reproducibility. In applications involving veryhigh or very low DNA concentrations, a single light pathis often insuffi cient, however the interchangeable cap ofthe Ultramicro cell imparts light paths of 1 mm and 0.2mm respectively and effectively creates virtual dilutions toovercome such situations. Other pathlength are available fordifferent volume and concentration limit. A further functionof the cap is to prevent the sample from drying up and toensure that measurements remain reproducible since samplecharacteristics can be affected by evaporation of the solvent.Programmable TemperatureControl ModelThe DNAmaster temperature control model utilizes a peltierregulated cell holder to control the sample temperaturefrom a range of +20˚C to +95˚C (with ±0.5˚C precision).Predominantly designed for the determination of nucleicacid Tm (at 260nm) up to 4 heating profiles can be selected, including 1˚C/min, 2˚C/min or a quick heat mode for heatingup to a plateau temperature of 50˚C at 5˚C/min beforeramping commences at 1˚C/min or 2˚C/min.The heated cell holder can also be used in other applicationsrequiring incubation and/or keeping a sample at a constanttemperature for example during kinetic analyses.18
