Any type of read head connects directlyto the IDENT Control Interface. A long-range 2.45 GHzread head connects to the same interface as a 125 kHzshort-range system.The advantage is not merely the simplicity of the system,but the easy and universal programming. No matter whichhead is used, the PLC or PC programming is the same. Allheads use the same commands and all tags have the sameaddressing structure.MountingMounting is easy with the rugged cast aluminum housing.The system provides two mounting options: (1) in thecabinet with DIN rail and (2) in the field using the threemounting holes.PowerAll interfaces, regardless of the fieldbus system, arepowered by 24 VDC and the M12 connector adheres tothe industrial standard where pin 1, brown, is positive andpin 3, blue, is negative. This makes wiring simple. Reversepolarity is indicated by the red LED and a green LEDmeans the wiring is correct.Quick DisconnectAll connectors on the IDENT ControlInterface are quick-disconnect style.This eliminates loose, disconnected,or intermittent wiring. If a cable isdamaged, replacing it with a new onetakes only a few minutes with no tools orwiring diagrams.Grounding and ShieldingIDENT Control is completely shielded and grounded. Theinterface has a grounding lug, and all read heads havea metal connection to ground it to the machine. All readhead cables have a shield that is connected directly to thecoupling nuts on both sides. This enables a continuousshield from the bottom of the interface directly to theread head. No noise or interference enters or exits theinterface. All EMC is grounded through the low impedanceconnections at the head or the interface.Graphical DisplayThe IDENT Control interface consists of four function keysfor programming, and a 2-line, 12-character display thatis perfect for configuration and diagnostic retrieval. Thereis an LED indication for each read head to ensure properconnection.
