It is no longernecessary to read codes exclusively on the top or bottomof cylindrical objects (bottles, vials, cans, etc.). The codecan be placed anywhere on the cylinder and will alwaysbe read as long as the image area is sighted. The finderpattern, a special feature in the Data Matrix code, allowsthe imager to determine the position and arrangement ofthe code.High ambient light immunityThe high-energy flash is precisely synchronized withthe camera functions and the trigger signal. Only 27microseconds are necessary to “freeze” the picture. Thesolid-state light source is not subject to deterioration.Heat generation and power consumption are reduced to aminimum.Flexible interface speeds data transferFast production requires even faster data transmission.The imager may be programmed to send data in a varietyof different protocols and with or without a custom prefix/suffix in order to meet your data requirements. The image of the MAC340 can be displayedcontinuously and in real-time. In addition to the opticaladjustment of the MAC340, the quality of the picture takenby the device can be precisely evaluated.Optical module rotates 90° (MAC340 only)The mechanical adjustment of the MAC340 is very simple.The optical module, consisting of light source, optics andCCD chip can be turned 90° simply by loosening twoscrews. By rotating the module to the side window, themounting height can be reduced and the cables can beinstalled parallel to the scanning surface.OMNICONTROL – Software for the userOMNICONTROL for Windows (Windows 95 or higher)serves to alter the configuration. The program is designedto be user friendly and also offers various functions forerror diagnosis. Once a set of parameters is chosen,this specific configuration may be stored in the PC ordownloaded to the MAC340. Information remains inthe nonvolatile memory until a different configuration istransmitted. As an alternative, the Matchcode feature canbe chosen. In this mode, the symbol is read and the valuecompared to a stored reference.
