FACTS ABOUT THE RACE.<br />

The Prizes will be presented at the conclusion of the <strong>Race</strong> by<br />

His Excellency the Governor.<br />

The total distance of the <strong>Race</strong> is 30 laps, equal to 410 miles.<br />

The 73 entries comprise 21 different makes of car, and the<br />

countries represented are : Austria, France, Germany, Gt . Britain,<br />

Italy and the United States of America.<br />

The <strong>Race</strong> will commence at 11 a .m., and is expected to last<br />

approximately six hours.<br />

Official practising takes place on Wednesday and Thursday,<br />

14th and 15th August, between the hours of 10-30 a .m. and<br />

12-30 p .m.<br />

On completing the Course, cars will be signalled at the Pits by<br />

means of a black and white chequered flag, displayed over their<br />

number . They will then cover a further lap slowly, and at a<br />

point approximately 300 yards from the finishing line, their<br />

numbers will again be displayed . The driver concerned will then<br />

draw into the Competitor's Car Park, which is situated in the<br />

R. A . C . Enclosure in Carrowreagh Hill Road, and await<br />

instructions.<br />

The Course will be closed to all vehicular traffic at 9-15 a .m . on.<br />

the morning of the <strong>Race</strong>, and to pedestrian traffic at 10 a .m.<br />

The R .A .C. has arranged for telegraph and telephone facilities<br />

in the Enclosure at the rear of the Score Board.<br />

Seatholders on the Grand Stand and holders of R .A .C . Enclosure<br />

tickets will be entitled to use the R .A .C. Enclosure at Quarry<br />

Corner.<br />

Spectators are warned that to assist a competitor in any way<br />

whatsoever, either by rendering mechanical aid or by pushing or<br />

lifting the car may render him liable to immediate disqualification.<br />

Spectators are requested to refrain even from approaching a com-<br />

petitor in trouble, unless their assistance is specifically asked for, or<br />

the competitor is unable to help himself.<br />
