alankarMINES NEWSNUASAHIRENOVATIONS & INNOVATIONSThe Neutral Grounding Resistor with earth leakageprotection has been provided in the neutral earthing system of1600 KVA Transformer at N C Mines as a safety measure. Ittrips both primary and secondary breaker of this transformerwhen leakage of current exceeds 300 MA and provides safetyfrom any electrical shock. It is an additional safety for earthleakage protection provided in each feeder of undergroundsupply through earth leakage relay.A 1600 KVA, 11 KV/ 433 V Transformer got modified fromOEM at 2.65 lakh and recommissioned at NCM to overcomethe problem of low voltage and to reduce the running hoursof Diesel Generator set. The modification has helped ingetting appropriate voltage output from 6 KV to 11 KVprimary voltage. Per unit cost is Rs. 6/- more in DG Set incomparison to NESCO supply. This has resulted in saving ofRs. 5,78,000/- per month. The week-long celebration of Dussera right from“Bilwa Diwas” to “Bijaya Dasami” at N.C.Mines attracted thepeople of the locality. On this occasion, a Melody programwas organized in 26th October, 2009 night by Sur Jhankarfrom Balasore. The immersion of idol of Goddess Durga tookplace at river Salandi in an attractive procession.GROUP DRAWING COMPETITIONA Drawing competition was organized on 31.08.2009 underthe guidance of IMFA Personnel Department at theCompany's Guest House for the employee’s children to shortlistthe painting for preparing Greeting Cards for theforthcoming New Year. Mr. R K Mishra, G.M(Mines) waspresent to inspire the participants.FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATIONOn the occasion of Foundation Day, a Tug of War game wasorganized for employees. The celebration started with anopening song by colony children followed by lighting ofcandles and Birth day cake cutting by Mr. M. K. Mahapatra,GM (P&A) in the presence of Mr. R. K. Mishra, GM (Mines)and other employees. At the end of the meeting, thedignitaries distributed the 'Long & Dedicated Service Awards'to the employees and prizes to the winners of sports events.INDEPENDENCE DAYIndependence Day was celebrated on 15th August’ 2009. Theday started with the ‘Pravat Pheri’ by School children. TheNational flag was unfurled by Mr. R. K. Jha, DGM (Electrical).The guard of honor was presented by the Security andGroup-4 personnel. On this occasion, various competitionswere also organized like Speech, Slogan and Patriotic songfollowed by distribution of prizes to the successfulparticipants.Bharatiya Vidya Niketan, Bidyadharpur, under the patronage ofIMFA Group celebrated the Independence Day. Mr. T. K.Hota, Asst. Manager(Mechanical), graced the occasion as ChiefGuest. and hoisted the National flag. On this occasion, thestudents also participated in Patriotic songs, Fancy dress andDebate competitions.Independence Day was also celebrated by Boula RegionChromite Mines Workers Union. Havan and Prayer were offered by the employeesand colony inmates.
