TORX PLUS ® RECESS1) Characteristics.TORX PLUS ® recess is a great improvement regarding TORX ® . Its special designprovides with a better torque transmission which increases ergonomics in the assembly andreduces incidences in the line due to bit wearing.As with TORX ® recess, TORX PLUS ® design is hexalobular with vertical internal walls thatensure the strength of the assembly system, reducing torque loss in the transmission andavoiding supplementary efforts to compensate camout (see Fig 1).Fig 1. The lobes areelliptically shaped so the contact angle between the bit and the recess is nearly 0°, while withTORX ® the angle is 15° (see Fig 2). This feature ensures optimal torque transmission,eliminating radial stress capable of damaging the head of the screw (very important in screwswith small head configuration). 2) Advantages.These two features greatly improve the already excellent design of TORX ® recess toreduce assembly costs, due to TORX PLUS ® recess, as with less bit consumption and thereduction of the energy consumption of the screwdrivers.TORX ® PLUS TAMPERPROOF recess has a post to avoid the usage of a non special bitand five lobes instead of six (see picture 3). This feature not only decreases the symmetry of therecess, preventing the use of a slot once the post is removed, also limits the selection of bitsavailable to manipulate the recess. This way, we are provided with one of the more genuinetamperproof systems in the market.Fig. 3. Driver bit life and recess strength increaseregarding TORX ® recess.2- High rate automatic feeding line: the variation TORX PLUS ® Autosert ® includes somesome positioning ramps on the upper part of the lobes which improves the engagement of thebit in the recess, reducing the assembly time.
