ADMISSION TO THE DEGREE1.1 The Head <strong>of</strong> Department has <strong>the</strong> authority to approve andaccept candidates who may o<strong>the</strong>rwise not strictly fulfil <strong>the</strong>general requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>University</strong> for admission.1.2 Students may be admitted to <strong>the</strong> Master's degree in NearEastern Studies (1) if <strong>the</strong>y have an Honours degree, or anequivalent qualification, in Near Eastern Studies, or (2) if <strong>the</strong>yhave an appropriate Bachelor's degree. Students with anHonours degree may, with <strong>the</strong> permission <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Head <strong>of</strong>Department and subject to <strong>the</strong>ir being required to take anadditional module or additional modules, be awarded <strong>the</strong> M.A.degree after submitting a mini-dissertation carrying 128credits.
