ADMISSION(a) The general regulations with respect to master's degreesapply mutatis mutandis to this degree.(b) Students <strong>of</strong> this university who have not interrupted <strong>the</strong>irstudies, must apply for admission to <strong>the</strong> department headconcerned.(c) Students who interrupted <strong>the</strong>ir studies and students from o<strong>the</strong>runiversities must apply for admission directly to <strong>the</strong>Department <strong>of</strong> Academic Student Services.(d) Admission is subject to approval from <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> departmentand is granted on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong> satisfactory academicperformance at Honours/fourth year level.2. EXAMINATIONExamination takes place at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> each academic year and may bea written and/or an oral examination.Apart from <strong>the</strong> above-mentioned examination, <strong>the</strong> candidate mustcomplete an approved internship successfully, and submit a dissertationor one publishable article at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> second year <strong>of</strong> study. Thedissertation or publishable article must deal with a topic pertinent toClinical Psychology. The article is examined in accordance with <strong>the</strong>regulations applying to <strong>the</strong> examining <strong>of</strong> a dissertation (Reg. A88-A93).With <strong>the</strong> consent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> department and <strong>the</strong> dean, <strong>the</strong>dissertation or publishable article may be submitted at a later date.In calculating <strong>the</strong> final pass mark for <strong>the</strong> degree, <strong>the</strong> different courseswill be accorded <strong>the</strong> following weights:SKL701 25%SKL703 25%SKL704Successful completion <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> internship according to <strong>the</strong>requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Board.SKL700 50%A year mark <strong>of</strong> 50% is required for SKL701.115<strong>Postgraduate</strong> Calendar 2004 – Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Humanities
