(Clinical Psychology)Study code: 02730Your attention is drawn to the fact that the format of the postgraduateprogramme in professional training in psychology is still underdiscussion nationally and that the final compilation of this programme issubject to a joint decision by the Professional Board for Psychology andthe Committee on Higher Education. No final exposition is currentlyavailable and students are therefore advised to read for the followingdegrees.INFORMATIONThe aim of this full-time two-year course is to train the student so thatafter the successful completion of the course he/she will able to registerat the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) aspsychologists in the category Clinical Psychology.The training programme is compiled in accordance with the regulationsof the HPCSA by the Department of Psychology in association with thetraining institution where the internship takes place.Due to the limited number of candidates that can be admitted to themaster's study in Clinical Psychology, selection takes place. A studentwill be considered for selection if he/she has already obtained thehonours degree in Psychology or is enrolled for it.Applications for selection and admission must be submitted on theprescribed form.
