UNPAID INTERSHIPS with CoreLogic in Sandy, UTOne intern would become a member of the team that is working on a very large technicaldocumentation project that will eventually encompass CoreLogic offices all over the country.The project probably will involve:Determining which business procedures are being performed at the various officesDetermining whether documentation currently existsAssessing existing documents to determine their statusInterfacing with subject matter experts and other document authorsReviewing/editing/formatting/applying Style Guide standardsMaking recommendations for document improvementsDesigning & creating procedural flow charts (extrapolating from the written procedures)Similar documentation tasksFor this internship, I prefer someone who is actively pursuing a course of study that emphasizestechnical writing, communication, and/or design, rather than journalism, literature, or generic English.This position requires an excellent command of English, and very good skills in Microsoft Word (version7 preferred, but 3 is acceptable). This intern will be located in our Sandy office, and will work directlyunder my guidance.The second internship will involve creating Computer-Based Training scripts from previously recordedbusiness courses. The intern will transcribe the recorded material using Microsoft Word (version 7preferred, but 3 is acceptable).This project will probably involve:Organizing material that might be out of sequence, redundant, etc.Doing any “clean up” of the original voice recordings that might be necessary (ignoringirrelevant comments, completing sentences, etc.)Contacting the original presenter for clarification as necessaryMaking suggestions to improve clarityDesigning and producing graphics to support the written materialWorking with the Training Manager to produce the final scriptThis intern does not necessarily need technical skills, but their ability to express themselves accuratelyand efficiently in English is required. Some aptitude for training or teaching would be very helpful. Thisperson will be under the direction of our Training Manager, who is also located in the Sandy office.Please note that both of these internships are unpaid.CoreLogic maintains a casual dress atmosphere. Unless clients are expected in the office, employees(and interns) are allowed to wear jeans along with casual shirts and tennis shoes, as long as they areclean, well groomed, and businesslike in their behavior.
