Contracts can be made orally” (Wikipedia). This is the contractGod made to Abram: “…Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou artnorthward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thouseest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever (Gen 13:14,15).” So how do we get tobe part of this great promise or contract? “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’sseed, and heirs according to the promise (Gal 3:29).” To become a part of Jesus’ flock, wemust heed what he says. “…but these things I say, that ye might be saved (John 5:34).”What did he say? “But now ye seek to kill me, a man that has told you the truth… (John8:40).” He called himself a man or human being. He says: “Beware of false prophets…(Matt 7:15).” “And this is the will of him (God) that sent me, that every one that seeththe Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up atthe last day (John 6:40).” I have heard quite often: “Just accept Jesus in your heart andye shall be saved.” First, we must ask ourselves how important is it to know who Jesusis? “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and JesusChrist, whom thou hast sent (John 17:3).” Know the nature of God and Jesus. God is theCreator of man and is above man. Jesus is a man or human being (I Tim 2:5). Who diedon that cross? Was it God or his Son, the man, Jesus Christ? His sheep know who he isand follow him (John 10:17). To have an ever-binding contract with God, we must heedthe word and follow it-not what some man has come up with. Help get the word outand stay off the broad way. “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and goingabout to establish their own righteousness… (Rom 10:3).” Remember, Jesus warnedto beware. Why? Do you think Abraham heeded God or manmade religion? God hasnot fulfilled his contract with Abraham yet (Heb 11:13), but it will be done (Matt 6:10)when Jesus returns.
