The only restraint imposed upon you isthe restraint of the Gospel, and to thisyou will notreasonably object.You gain everything that is worth having. Youacquire a full and connected knowledgeof God srevelation. You get possession of the whole truthas it is in Jesus. You no longer see it in fragments,but reflected before you in all its beauty, as in a polished mirror. Your knowledge of the truth is netonly complete and harmonious, but it becomes fixedand steady. You exchange opinion for certainty.You are no longer tossed about by every wind ofdoctrine,"but you are firmly grounded on the rockof truth. Then you enjoy that profound peace whichsprings from the conscious possession of the truth.And in coming to the Church, you are not entering a strange place, but you are returning to yourFather s home. The house and furniture may lookodd to you. But it is just the same as your forefathers left it three hundred years ago. In comingback to the Church, you worship where your fathersworshipped before you; you kneel before the altarat which they knelt; you receive the Sacramentawhich they received, and respect the authority ofthe clergy whom they venerated. You come backlike the Prodigal Son to the home of your Father2* B
