in Ruhpolding
Welcome to the
e.on IBU Weltcup Biathlon 2013 in Ruhpolding!
Following the extremely successful Biathlon World Championships in 2012,
which the IBU President Anders Besseberg called the “biggest festival of
Biathlon sport”, the next World Cup is already raring to go.
The increasing popularity of the sport of Biathlon is uncontested, not least
thanks to the extraordinarily successful Biathlon WCH in the spring of 2012.
For this reason, the Organizing Committee strives to make future World
Cups also very special events and to maintain the excellent level of quality
of the WCH.
Success in the domain of sports is guaranteed by the participating athletes
as well as by their background support made up of their team staff,
coaches, sports federations, friends and families.
We hope that the sportsmen and sportswomen will be fully able to use
their performance reserves in the deciding competitions and wish them
the luck they will need.
We would like to thank warmly all those without whose active support hosting
the World Cup 2013 wouldn’t have been possible.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the community of Ruhpolding
we invite all national and international federations to take part in this World
Cup event and we wish you lots of success for what we hope will be exciting
and fair competitions.

A.4 Report after arrival
Upon arrival in Ruhpolding and before
moving into their accommodations the
team captains must, according to the IBU rules, immediately
check in at the accreditation office in the
Alte Schule (old school building).

A.6 Liability/Insurance
All participants must have entered an adequate accident,
health and liability insurance. When submitting
the entry by names, the national federation confirms
that all entered persons are covered by the required
insurance for personal and material damages.
A.7 Regulations regarding the import and
export of rifles, ammunition and radio
equipment.
Import of sports weapons from member states of
the European Union by EU residents and from third
countries to participate in events conducted in
regions of the German Custom Authority.
The valid regulations of 2012 remain in force
unchanged for the World Cup 2013. In accordance
with a “General Decree” extended to 31
Aug 2013 by the responsible authority Landratsamt
Traunstein, the participating nations (EU
and Third States) are exempted from the permit
obligations IAW § 12 para. 5 of the German Ordnance
Law. When entering the country, the team
captain must produce a copy of the enclosed
version of this extended exemption regulation
(Annex 1), the invitation by the organizer as well
as a copy of the entry form (Annex 2). Athletes
who travel separately must carry the invitation
and a copy of this exemption regulation, as well.
The enclosed form (Annex 2) must be sent to the
competition secretary before the arrival in due time.
All reserve rifles must be assigned to a responsible
coach. Entry not later than 24 Dec 2012
Import, Export and Operation of Radio Equipment.
The operation of radio equipment in Germany is
notifiable and liable to pay costs. The costs for a
short time assignment amount to 130. - € for the
first frequency and to 50.- € for every additional
frequency (period of use at one location maximum of
30 days within half a year). Please use the enclosed
form (Annex 3 or 4). Payment must be made upon
arrival. Annex 5 lists those frequencies that are not
eligible for short time assignments. During the world
championships, checks will be made by officers of
the regulation authority. An officer of the regulation
authority will be present at the arrival day and at the
first team captains meeting. Entry not later than 24
Dec 2012

A.8 Import regulations regarding
medicines
Please be advised to obtain detailed information
regarding the import of medicines. In Germany, the
import of any kind of drugs is subject to the strict
regulations of the German Drug Law.
A.9 VISA Regulations
The following IBU member federations require a
VISA for entering the Federal Republic of Germany.
ALG, ARM, BLR, BIH * , CHN, GEO, IND, IRI, KAZ,
KGZ, LIB, MAR, MKD * , MDA, MGL, RUS, SRB * ,
TUR, UKR, UZB
* Athletes from the highlighted countries do not need
a visa if they have a biometric passport.

Requests for invitations must be submitted to the
Deutscher Skiverband not later than 07 Dec 2012.
B.1 Transports
The transfer for the participating complete teams
from the airport of Munich or Salzburg and/from
the railroad stations of Traunstein or Ruhpolding to
the accommodation is without charge. Also without
charge is the transport from the hotel to the competition
facility for those teams that arrive without
own vehicle. The transport of guests of the National
Federations is possible only in case of space available
and will be charged. The OC Ruhpolding recommends
to enlist the service of local transport companies.

B.2 Payment for accommodation
and stay
The costs for stay (full board including 1 juice drink
per meal) amount per participant and day to
Category A 80,– EUR
Category B 70,– EUR
Surcharge for single room (A + B) 10,– EUR
Payment must be made directly to the rented accommodation.
As credit cards are not accepted by all
hotels it would be advisable to inquire beforehand.
At the machines, Master Cards and Visa Cards are
good to a limit of 500.- € per day and card.

If no reservation has been made, yet, the desired
hotel must be notified by way of IBU online registration.
Deadline 07 Dec 2012
The IBU online reservation by names establishes a
binding reservation of the accommodation at this
date.
Deadline: 24 Dec 2012
If the accommodation is not used later on – also
partly – without having given notice by this deadline,
the entering federation will be held liable for the
costs. The rented period in the hotel must be paid
for. Earlier departure or not notified changes will not
be considered.
B.3 Payment of costs
(IAW.IBU Rules Art.12.1.3)
The OC Ruhpolding will pay for the costs for the best
25 biathletes, male and female, accommodation and
food for a maximum of 7 day in category B.
B.4. Preisgelder
The OC Ruhpolding will pay the prize money set by
the IBU Executive Board directly to the athletes by
way of bank transfer, thereby taking into consideration
any national regulations.
In order to carry out the bank transfer to the athletes
who have earned the prize money the following
information must be provided:
• Account holder
• Name of the bank
• IBAN
• SWIFT
• Account number (national)
• Bank code number (national)
The athlete is responsible to provide the correct
information when signing the payment form.
B.5 Wax trucks
The OC Ruhpolding accepts the entry of wax trucks
if submitted not later than 24 Dec 2012 using the
enclosed form (Annex 6). National federation who
arrive with a wax truck will be provided, in general,
with only one additional changing container.
