Welcome to the<br />

e.on IBU Welt<strong>cup</strong> Biathlon 2013 in Ruhpolding!<br />

Following the extremely successful Biathlon World Championships in 2012,<br />

which the IBU President Anders Besseberg called the “biggest festival of<br />

Biathlon sport”, the next World Cup is already raring to go.<br />

The increasing popularity of the sport of Biathlon is uncontested, not least<br />

thanks to the extraordinarily successful Biathlon WCH in the spring of 2012.<br />

For this reason, the Organizing Committee strives to make future World<br />

Cups also very special events and to maintain the excellent level of quality<br />

of the WCH.<br />

Success in the domain of sports is guaranteed by the participating athletes<br />

as well as by their background support made up of their team staff,<br />

coaches, sports federations, friends and families.<br />

We hope that the sportsmen and sportswomen will be fully able to use<br />

their performance reserves in the deciding competitions and wish them<br />

the luck they will need.<br />

We would like to thank warmly all those without whose active support hosting<br />

the World Cup 2013 wouldn’t have been possible.<br />

A.6 Liability/Insurance<br />

All participants must have entered an adequate accident,<br />

health and liability insurance. When submitting<br />

the entry by names, the national federation confirms<br />

that all entered persons are covered by the required<br />

insurance for personal and material damages.<br />

A.7 Regulations regarding the import and<br />

export of rifles, ammunition and radio<br />

equipment.<br />

Import of sports weapons from member states of<br />

the European Union by EU residents and from third<br />

countries to participate in events conducted in<br />

regions of the German Custom Authority.<br />

The valid regulations of 2012 remain in force<br />

unchanged for the World Cup 2013. In accordance<br />

with a “General Decree” extended to 31<br />

Aug 2013 by the responsible authority Landratsamt<br />

Traunstein, the participating nations (EU<br />

and Third States) are exempted from the permit<br />

obligations IAW § 12 para. 5 of the German Ordnance<br />

Law. When entering the country, the team<br />

captain must produce a copy of the enclosed<br />

version of this extended exemption regulation<br />

(Annex 1), the invitation by the organizer as well<br />

as a copy of the entry form (Annex 2). Athletes<br />

who travel separately must carry the invitation<br />

and a copy of this exemption regulation, as well.<br />

The enclosed form (Annex 2) must be sent to the<br />

competition secretary before the arrival in due time.<br />

All reserve rifles must be assigned to a responsible<br />

coach. Entry not later than 24 Dec 2012<br />

Import, Export and Operation of Radio Equipment.<br />

The operation of radio equipment in Germany is<br />

notifiable and liable to pay costs. The costs for a<br />

short time assignment amount to 130. - € for the<br />

first frequency and to 50.- € for every additional<br />

frequency (period of use at one location maximum of<br />

30 days within half a year). Please use the enclosed<br />

form (Annex 3 or 4). Payment must be made upon<br />

arrival. Annex 5 lists those frequencies that are not<br />

eligible for short time assignments. During the <strong>world</strong><br />

championships, checks will be made by officers of<br />

the regulation authority. An officer of the regulation<br />

authority will be present at the arrival day and at the<br />

first team captains meeting. Entry not later than 24<br />

A.8 Import regulations regarding<br />

medicines<br />

Please be advised to obtain detailed information<br />

regarding the import of medicines. In Germany, the<br />

import of any kind of drugs is subject to the strict<br />

regulations of the German Drug Law.<br />

A.9 VISA Regulations<br />

The following IBU member federations require a<br />

VISA for entering the Federal Republic of Germany.<br />

ALG, ARM, BLR, BIH * , CHN, GEO, IND, IRI, KAZ,<br />

KGZ, LIB, MAR, MKD * , MDA, MGL, RUS, SRB * ,<br />

TUR, UKR, UZB<br />

* Athletes from the highlighted countries do not need<br />

a visa if they have a biometric passport.<br />

B.1 Transports<br />

The transfer for the participating complete teams<br />

from the airport of Munich or Salzburg and/from<br />

the railroad stations of Traunstein or Ruhpolding to<br />

the accommodation is without charge. Also without<br />

charge is the transport from the hotel to the competition<br />

facility for those teams that arrive without<br />

own vehicle. The transport of guests of the National<br />

Federations is possible only in case of space available<br />

and will be charged. The OC Ruhpolding recommends<br />

to enlist the service of local transport companies.<br />

and stay<br />

The costs for stay (full board including 1 juice drink<br />

per meal) amount per participant and day to<br />

Category A 80,– EUR<br />

Category B 70,– EUR<br />

Surcharge for single room (A + B) 10,– EUR<br />

Payment must be made directly to the rented accommodation.<br />

As credit cards are not accepted by all<br />

hotels it would be advisable to inquire beforehand.<br />

At the machines, Master Cards and Visa Cards are<br />

good to a limit of 500.- € per day and card.<br />

Deadline 07 Dec 2012<br />

The IBU online reservation by names establishes a<br />

binding reservation of the accommodation at this<br />

date.<br />

Deadline: 24 Dec 2012<br />

If the accommodation is not used later on – also<br />

partly – without having given notice by this deadline,<br />

the entering federation will be held liable for the<br />

costs. The rented period in the hotel must be paid<br />

for. Earlier departure or not notified changes will not<br />

be considered.<br />

B.3 Payment of costs<br />

(IAW.IBU Rules Art.12.1.3)<br />

The OC Ruhpolding will pay for the costs for the best<br />

25 biathletes, male and female, accommodation and<br />

food for a maximum of 7 day in category B.<br />

B.4. Preisgelder<br />

The OC Ruhpolding will pay the prize money set by<br />

the IBU Executive Board directly to the athletes by<br />

way of bank transfer, thereby taking into consideration<br />

any national regulations.<br />

In order to carry out the bank transfer to the athletes<br />

who have earned the prize money the following<br />

information must be provided:<br />

• IBAN<br />

• SWIFT<br />

• Account number (national)<br />

• Bank code number (national)<br />

The athlete is responsible to provide the correct<br />

information when signing the payment form.<br />

B.5 Wax trucks<br />

The OC Ruhpolding accepts the entry of wax trucks<br />

if submitted not later than 24 Dec 2012 using the<br />

enclosed form (Annex 6). National federation who<br />

arrive with a wax truck will be provided, in general,<br />

with only one additional changing container.
