DifferenceFrance during the event. In the past, Maggie Gallagher, RobbieMcGowan Hickie, Craig Bennett, IvonneVerhagen have made the headlines, often when relative unknowns still inFrance. This year, faithful to that desireof giving something new and excitingto the dancers, Alison and Peter werethe guests. The event as one wouldexpect was a great success and thechoreographers themselves could notbe more delighted with the amazingorganization that is the Country & Linedance day. They said: “We have just returnedfrom a fantastic Line dance weekendin Gidy, France, organised by CountryClub Route 45. Many thanks to FranckBoucheraud and their entire team whoput on a terrific event.”With three different levels of workshops(Intermediate, Improver, and Beginner)organised in three sessions throughoutthe afternoon, there was something foreverybody.Dances taught included Our Generationand Where The Wind Blows for theIntermediates, Come Crawl With Me andStarting Something for the Improvers, and LDF and Whispering Your Name forthe Beginners. Again an eclectic choicesure to please everybody.Alison and Peter add: “The levelof the dancers was so good that wewere able to add an additional dancein the Improver section - Hard To BeA Lady, and in the Beginner section (achallenge!) - Bread On The Table. After adelicious home cooked buffet dinner bythe dancers in attendance we dancedall night long. Dancing continued untilaround four am.”One of the things that everyone alwayscomments on is the friendliness of thegroup. The day in 2013 was no different.“Peter and I cannot thank all thedancers who came out for the day andjoined not only in the workshops butduring the evening reviews and socialdancing enough. You made us feel sowelcome. Looking forward to being withyou all again, hopefully in the not toodistant future!”It seems that Country Club Route45 is not just a place where fun anddancing go hand in hand but also wherequality and consistence are importanttoo. Franck reckons that next year willbe even better…. Something to lookforward to for dancers and guest!www.linedancermagazine.com May 2013 • 27
