I understand that interim qualifications may be granted after successfulcompletion of the equivalent of each level. Do these get issued automaticallyor would I need to apply for these each time? Is there a cost associated?Yes that is correct – depending on how many credits you have gained, you may exitthe programme, without gaining the full honours degree. These interim qualificationsare not issued automatically although UH Online will contact you to advise whetherenough credits have been obtained for an award. You only receive one certificateand that is for the highest level at which you exit the programme. There is no costassociated with this however there may be a charge for any additional copies.19. What are the minimum system requirements to study an online degree?All the system requirements can be found on our website -http://www.herts.ac.uk/more/uh-online-distance-learning/frequently-askedquestions/system-requirements.cfm20. Do the modules that are named the same in Computer Science and InformationTechnology cover the same information?Yes – The modules that cross over from the two courses will be the exact samemodule for both Computer Science and Information Technology students.21. With the online BSc and MSc can I then study a PhD at any university of mychoice for the same course?Once you have gained both a BSc and MSc, you should then be eligible to study thesame course at PhD level. However, as with all universities they will have differententry requirements that will need to be met when applying.22. Would it be possible to transfer to the university to attend in a traditionalfashion after completing for example the first 1 or 2 years of studies?If you wanted to move onto studying the on campus degree program you would haveto re-apply for entry into the next year. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t simply be able totransfer between the two.

Can the level 6 BSc Computer Science (online) be taken in one year?Yes – The level 6 BSc Computer Science (online) can be studied full time, meaning itcan be completed in one academic year.24. Would we be able to gain access to study material for all modules from thedate of enrolment in order study ahead if time allows?You can study ahead in the modules you are registered on although it is not possibleto take the assessments early. You are not able to study additional modules in asemester however it is possible to view a module directory on StudyNet whichprovides you with limited ‘read only’ access. This should give you a good idea of thetopics that will be covered although the materials are likely to have been updated bythe time you register fully. Software and e-books are only provided to students whohave paid and enrolled on the module.25. How are tests and exams hosted?All tests and exams will be online, mainly through Studynet and assessmentplatforms such as Question Mark Perception.26. How many years will it take to complete the BSc Computer Science (online)?It will take between 5-6 years to complete the BSc Computer Science (online)program. Level’s 4 and 5 are currently only offered as part time study, so it wouldtake two years of study for each level (four years in total). Whereas, Level 6 can bestudied both part time and full time so can be completed in one year (full time) or twoyears (part time).27. If I am going to take the IELTS exam soon, can I send in my application nowand then send my IELTS result after?Yes you can complete an application excluding the IELTS. If you meet all the otherentry requirements, you would be given a Conditional offer. This is where you havebeen offered a place, providing you show evidence of English Language at thecorrect level. If you then achieve an IELTS at the required level you will be given anUnconditional offer and can register onto the program.28. I have been working full time as a software developer for the past 13ish years,could work references replace academic references, which would be 14 yearsold at this point
