FUEL FLEXIBILITYNatural gas is the cleanest fossil fuel in the world. OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCYAt Wärtsilä we optimise a vessel’s efficiency by looking at the wholepicture, starting from the initial design. We study the vessel’s powerand propulsion systems, the integrated automation systems, and theway that the vessel will be operated and maintained.Our support also includes retrofit projects that reduce costs and risks,minimise downtime, and improve efficiencies. These retrofits are theproduct of excellent engineering capabilities, and are designed to extendthe lifecycle of the installation.LIFECYCLE SUPPORTOur global Wärtsilä Services business also serves to improve lifecycleefficiency by preventing the unexpected, lessening the environmentalfootprint, and optimising performance.7
