2 BAS<strong>IC</strong> OPERATION■ Emergency transmissionWhen [Emergency] is held down for the specified time period*,the emergency signal is transmitted on the specifiedemergency channel once, or repeatedly.When no emergency channel is specified, the call is transmittedon the operating channel.The repeat emergency signal is automatically transmitteduntil you turn OFF the power.Depending on the preprogramming, receiving a matching5-tone code cancels the transmission.If you want to cancel the Emergency function, hold down[Emergency] for the pre-programmed time period again beforetransmitting the call.If your transceiver is programmed for Silent operation, youcan transmit emergency calls without the beep sounding andthe LEDs lighting.IMPORTANT: It is recommended to set an emergencychannel individually to provide the certain emergency calloperation.D NOTESDepending on the preprogramming, the following functionsare automatically activated. Ask your dealer for details.• Auto TX functionAfter the emergency call transmission, audio from the microphoneis automatically transmitted for a specified time period.*• The HM-148G or HM-152 hand microphone is required.• Auto RX functionAfter the emergency call transmission, the transceiver standsby in the audible mode for the specified time period.** Depending on the preprogramming.
