Implementation.<strong>of</strong>.<strong>the</strong>.Translation.System<br />

The objective <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> implementation activity is to create <strong>the</strong> declarative specifications<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> transformations to be performed by <strong>the</strong> ontology translation system,<br />

which will be used to generate its final code. The method proposes to implement<br />

<strong>the</strong>se translations using three different formal languages — ODELex, ODESyntax,<br />

and ODESem — which correspond to <strong>the</strong> lexical, syntax, and semantic/pragmatic<br />

ontology translation layers, respectively. The same language (ODESem) is used<br />

for implementing semantic and pragmatic transformations, because <strong>the</strong> translation<br />

decisions at both layers are similar. The description <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se languages is out <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> this chapter and can be found in Corcho and Gómez-Pérez (2004) and<br />

Corcho (2005). We can say that <strong>the</strong> ODELex and ODESyntax languages are simi-<br />
