PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP (Elected)Edward is a chartered architect in the United Kingdom and a registered architect in Hong Kong.His contribution in daylight researches has earned him membership with two of the mostprestigious learned societies on illumination engineering. For his works on urban climatology, hehas been elected a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society. In 1992, he beganhis academic career at Sheffield University. He was with MIT and the National University ofSingapore before coming to the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1999. As a designer, he hastaught design studio throughout his academic life; he considers design studio an important venueto conduct experimental investigations. His lectures are mostly in the area of building technology,design management and environmental design. He has been involved in curriculum planning inNUS and in CUHK. At CUHK, he had been the technology courses coordinator and thecoordinator of design studios. He is the Director of the Environmental Design Research Unit.
