Additional Scriptures for Jeremiah’s CallTRUSTING IN GOD“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourselfin the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD;trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, thejustice of your cause like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:3-6 n i v).GOD’S DISCIPLINE“And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said,‘My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you.For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.’As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children”(Hebrews 12:5-7 n lt).SUBMISSION TO GOVERNMENT“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, andthose in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebelsagainst authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who aredoing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, andthey will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you aredoing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. Theyare God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. Soyou must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay yourtaxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor tothose who are in authority” (Romans 13:1-7 n lt).continued on next pageTo learn more about God Provides and obtain additional teaching tools, go to Crown.org/GodProvides or call 1-800-249-6320.Copyright ©2009 Crown Financial Ministries, Inc.
