MEDICAL STUDENTS APPLYING TO RESIDENCY–CRITERIAThe following information is provided to medical students applying to our residency programand includes criteria for interviewing. (Changes may be made for the upcoming interviewseason.)Thank you for your interest in the Mercy Redding Family Practice Residency Program.Detailed information on our program can be found athttp://fpnetwork.ucdavis.edu/redding/intro.htmWe are a member of the University of California, <strong>Davis</strong> Network of Affiliated Family PracticeResidency Programs. The primary objective of the Family Practice Residency Network is toprovide a rich graduate experience in family medicine which implements the principles of theAmerican Academy of Family Physicians, the Accreditation Council on Graduate MedicalEducation, and the American Board of Family Practice.It is our goal to train high-quality family physicians to meet the health care needs ofCalifornia, to practice with medically underserved populations, and to be leaders in ourmedical communities. The <strong>UC</strong>D Family Practice Residency Network includes sevenseparate programs: Mercy Medical Center, Merced; Doctors Medical Center, Modesto;Mercy Medical Center, Redding; University of California, <strong>Davis</strong> Medical Center, Sacramento;San Joaquin General Hospital, Stockton; and David Grant USAF Medical Center, TravisAFB. Our affiliated program at Travis Air Force Base does not participate in the NRMP.)Intern Positions:In order to ensure the best interview date, please submit all application materials no laterthan December 1, 2011. After this date, applications will be individually reviewed forconsideration. The application process for the <strong>UC</strong>D Network is centralized at theSacramento Network Office. You need to submit an ERAS application to each program youare interested in. We only accept applications through ERAS. Applications and interviewsfor all Network programs are coordinated through the Network Recruitment Coordinator. Allapplications are screened based on merit. Network programs will only accept applicationsreceived through ERAS - the Electronic Residency Application Service. No other applicationwill be accepted for intern positions. For more information on obtaining an application,please contact your Dean's office. International medical students should contact theECFMG.International Medical Graduates:The following items are needed by all International Medical Graduateapplicants:1. A current (within one year) Post Graduate Training Authorization Letter from the MedicalBoard of California2.
