The contract is part of amodernisation and upgrade programmeof the historic tramway line linking theseaside suburb of Glenelg with the citycentre.The low-floor trams are based on theproven and reliable concept of theFLEXITY Classic vehicles for Frankfurt/Main. Equipped with conventionalwheel-set bogies the vehicles offer increasedrunning stability and reducedwear of the wheel which results in fewermaintenance and repair intervals. Widedouble-doors and level entrances facilitateboarding and exiting the vehicle,especially for passengers with reducedmobility.
