-3 -Domestic PetsAn animal which is kept as a companion pet in accordance with the <strong>Council</strong>’s Local Lawsand any other relevant legislation in or about a residential use for the interest, enjoyment orprotection of residents in the dwelling unit. The term does not include the keeping ofvenomous animals.ErectIncludes :-erect or commence or continue to erect;do, or commence or continue to do, any work in the course of or for the purpose oferecting;perform any structural work or make any alteration, addition or rebuilding;move from one position on an allotment to another position on or partly on thesame allotment or another allotment;re-erect with or without alteration on or partly on the same or another allotment;orwhere a building or structure is located on more than one allotment.(i)(ii)move to another position on the same allotments or any of them or toanother allotment or allotments;orre-erect with or without alteration on another position on the sameallotments or any of them or on another allotment or allotments.Existing Non-Conforming UseAn existing use which, had it not been in existence before the appointed day would, havingregard to the zone in which it is carried on, constitute a purpose for which any building orother structure may not be erected or used or land may not be used in that zone.Existing UseThe use of premises for the purpose for which they were lawfully used immediately beforethe appointed day or for which a permit was granted before the appointed day providedthat such permit has not expired or been revoked.FamilyAny one person maintaining a household or a group of persons living together andmaintaining a common household such that all members of the group have access to allparts of the dwelling init or other unit or accommodation occupied by the group.Fettered UseAn existing use which, had it not been in existence before the appointed day would, havingregard to the zone in which it is carried on, constitute a purpose for which any building orother structure may be erected or used or land may be used only with consent of the<strong>Council</strong>.FrontageAny boundary line, or part thereof, of an allotment which coincides with the alignment of aroad.
