~-44-3.3.6 Central Business ZoneIntentThe intent of the Central Business zone is to accommodate a broad range ofcommerce, retailing, tourism, accommodation and entertainment activities that areessential in ensuring the continuation and strengthening of the viability andfunctions of the Central City in its role as the regional centre for Far NorthQueensland and as a major centre within the 'Pacific Region'.The development of accommodation for both tourists and permanent residentswithin the zone is in accordance with the intent of the zone and is encouraged.Residential development within the zone shall be in accordance with theprovisions of Development Control Plan 1.
