Sheended the year ranked fifth on theISPS Handa Order of Merit with164,020.44 euro in season’s earnings.We caught up with the talented Scot, fromwhom big things are expected in <strong>2013</strong>!Carly, how satisfied were you withyour 2012 season?My main goals were to try and enjoymy golf more and make some top 10finishes. I did make both my goalsand the bonus of my two wins!How do you rate yourperformances?It was a great year for me. I feel Ihave grown a lot both in my gameand mentally. I am now a lot morecomfortable on <strong>Tour</strong> and think I amon the right track to getting to whereI would like to be.In your opinion, what were the bestand worst tournaments?The Deutsche Bank Swiss Open wasdefinitely the best tournament ofthe year for me. Taking the title wasamazing as my boyfriend, <strong>European</strong><strong>Tour</strong> professional Tano Goya wascaddying for me, I had my first holein one and it was the first time Iplayed with the legend Laura Davies!My least favourite week was inFrance at the Lacoste <strong>Ladies</strong> Open. Ijust had a tough week however thetournament team are still great andlook after us well, I just would haveliked to have played better!What are your greatest memoriesof your victories?At the Aberdeen Asset ManagementScottish <strong>Ladies</strong> Open I justremember being so calm and notfazed at all until the last three footputt to win when I almost didn’t giveit enough to get in the hole. I don’tthink the situation had really hit meuntil then! At the Deutsche BankSwiss Open the play off was one ofthe best experiences I have had inmy career. It was really tough andwinning with an eagle on the fourthextra hole was an amazing feeling.What were your best and worstexperiences last year?The best experience was winningfull stop. The worst experiencewould probably be how tough it wasduring the Ricoh Women’s BritishOpen in those weather conditions.What were your favourite club,course, greens and city on the tour?For the best club, course, and greensI would have to say the Emirates<strong>Golf</strong> Club in Dubai. I love it there.However it is always nice to comehome to Gleneagles. The best citythis year would be Shanghai. It isgreat and I visited it for the first timethis year.Overall, what was the best thingabout the season?Everything! The whole experience ofbeing on <strong>Tour</strong>: I have the best job inthe world!What would you have changed, ifanything?There are always things to improvein your game but I feel I reallyprogressed last year.What were your greatest strengthsand weaknesses?My drive was consistent, but I amreally working on my chipping at themoment.Who are your best friends on tour?Stacy Lee Bregman, LiebeleiLawrence and Henni Zuel.How closely do you monitor yourscoring statistics throughout theseason?I keep a close eye on my stats. Idon’t know them off by heart butthey are always written down. I willbe sticking to my training regime,seeing my coach and will just keepworking on everything and trying toimprove my percentages.Where was the best place you ateon tour and the best hotel?The best restaurant was Tribes inSouth Africa and I’m not sure of thebest hotel but the private housingwe had in Dubai was pretty amazing.What was your most complicatedtrip of the season?Biarritz to Malaysia via over anovernight stay in Paris, flying intoOrly and out of Charles de Gaulle!Then it was on to Dubai afterMalaysia, to Shanghai, then Sanya…then Hong Kong, Dubai and finallyhome to Glasgow. It was a prettymad six weeks!What was the best party of theseason?The Turkish Airlines <strong>Ladies</strong> Open isalways good fun.What was the most enjoyable thingyou did off the course?I did a great photo shoot for <strong>Golf</strong>Punk with Tano which was really fun.What are your goals for the <strong>2013</strong>season?My main aim is to make The<strong>European</strong> Solheim Cup team, and ofcourse get more wins!What do you need to do to makeit to The <strong>2013</strong> Solheim Cup inColorado?I would like to think I can make theteam. I need to have another winunder my belt and finish consistentlyin the top five.65
