Amboy, which had an<br />

install<strong>at</strong>ion of officers<br />

banquet <strong>at</strong> the parish<br />

premises S<strong>at</strong>urday, April 8.<br />

he is called by almost<br />

everyone, is already in<br />

motion <strong>at</strong> 6:00 am. or<br />

earlier, heading for his<br />

electrical shops,<br />

accompanied by his younger<br />

brother Joe, <strong>at</strong> a quickened<br />

pace, "shaping up for the<br />

day's work schedule.<br />

He and Joe, nicknamed<br />

"Chappy," work steadily as<br />

a team, .scurrying around,<br />

here and there, busy as<br />

beavers. A common saying<br />

around town is "He's still<br />

climbing poles " Because of<br />

his bursts of energy, he is the<br />

envy of many younger<br />

gener<strong>at</strong>ion residents.<br />

During Memorial Day,<br />

Indpendenc'- Day, or<br />

Veteran's Day, Adam is seen<br />

setting a fast pace in the<br />

company of others,<br />

marching with colors and<br />

carrying a bundle of flags,<br />

visiting local cemeteries to<br />

decor<strong>at</strong>e graves of veterans.<br />

He recites "The Soldier's<br />

Prayer" <strong>at</strong> all of his<br />

destin<strong>at</strong>ions and usually<br />

addresses groups or<br />

congreg<strong>at</strong>ions with brief<br />

extemporaneous remarks,<br />

thanking the for their<br />

particip<strong>at</strong>ion and<br />

remembrance<br />

He has been parade<br />

marshal! on a number of<br />

occasions, both civil and<br />
