Historic Paddleboats are coming to Morgan The river-port town of Morgan is getting ready to celebrate the arrival of an historic flotilla of river 21 craft on Saturday April 9 th and Sunday 10 th , 2011. Headlining the visit will be the 1908 Echuca built river freighter, P.S.Oscar W from Goolwa and the 1897 Milang built P.S. Marion from Mannum. It is hoped a number of other historic and interesting vessels will also come to the party. On Saturday April 9th Morgan Museum will host a special afternoon tea at 3.30pm in the historic Landseers building, incorporating the presentation of the River Captains Honour Board by Captain Trevor Bedford. On Saturday night the 'Hey Hey It's Morgan' Variety night, featuring many of our talented local identities, will rock the newly renovated Morgan Institute. The $45 ticket includes a delicious 3 course meal, a commemorative glass with wine of your choice, entertainment from assorted talented actors and music by Warren Hardiman. Wine from Spook Hill Wines and Scott Creek Wines will be available with beer and soft drinks. Tickets are limited and are selling fast. Celebrations will centre on the beautiful Lion's Riverfront Park with a display of invited river craft, historic cars, motorcycles and vintage machinery. We will have a selection of food and craft exhibitors and live entertainment once again by Warren Hardiman. The PS Marion & PS Oscar W will be open to the public so you can experience these historic vessels and view the extraordinary restoration works which have been carried out by their dedicated volunteers. Morgan Scenic Cruises will also offer trips from the riverfront and we encourage you to take a ride with Dean and Anna to see the mighty river at it‘s magnificent best. Dean 0429402243. The cost for the 5 hour day trips out of Morgan is $60.00 per person including a light lunch and morning tea with tea & coffee and soft drinks available for $2.00.
