THE REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS (SECOND AMENDMENT ) RULES ,2011NOTIFICATIONNew Delhi, the 23rdFebruary, 2011S.!9. ~~6(E).=I-n exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Representationof the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950), the Central Gov ernment, after consulting the<strong>Election</strong> <strong>Commission</strong>, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the<strong>Registration</strong> of Electors Rules, 1960, namely:-1. (1) These rules may be called the <strong>Registration</strong> of Electors (SecondAmendment)Rules, 2011.(2) They shall come into <strong>for</strong>ce on the date of their publication in theOfficial Gazette.2. In the <strong>Registration</strong> of Electors Rules, 1960,-(a) in rule 8B, in sub-rule (3), <strong>for</strong> the words "duly attested by the competent official ofthe Indian Mission in the country concerned", the words "duly selfattested" shall besubstituted;(b) in the proviso to rule 10, after the words "Electronic Gazette", the words "or in theofficial web site of the Chief <strong>Electoral</strong> Officer of the concerned State" shall be inserted;(c) in the proviso to rule 16, after the words "Electronic Gazette", the words "or in theofficial web site of the Chief <strong>Electoral</strong> Officer of the concerned State" shall be inserted;(d) in rule 22, in sub-rule (1), in the proviso to clause (b), after th e words "ElectronicGazette", the words "or in the official website of the Chief <strong>Electoral</strong> Officer of theconcerned State" shall be inserted.250
