the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll of that Constituency has been finally published after the next intensiverevision.Method of keeping copies of <strong>Electoral</strong> Rolls4. The <strong>Commission</strong> has directed that the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll <strong>for</strong> each polling booth shouldbe kept in a folder in which the mother roll relating to the intensive revision is arrangedwith supporting duplicate enumeration cards and supplements to the mother roll with theclaims and objections <strong>for</strong>ms accepted or rejected in respect of every subsequent summaryrevision arranged year-wise so that each entry in the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll can be propertyaccounted <strong>for</strong>. Similarly the outer cover of the folder should give a description ofConstituency, Part No. and the contents of the folder.Marked copy of the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll Supplied to the polling parties5. The <strong>Commission</strong> had received representations in the past that there were arbitrarydeletion of entries in the <strong>Electoral</strong> Rolls used by polling personnel in the polling stations.In the context of such representations, the <strong>Commission</strong> has issued, from time to time,instructions that the copy of the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll used at the polling station/booth as “MarkedCopy” should be the same as that carried by the polling agents of parties and contestingcandidates. For this purpose the following instructions of the <strong>Commission</strong> are reiterated <strong>for</strong>observance by <strong>Electoral</strong> <strong>Registration</strong> <strong>Officers</strong>, Returning <strong>Officers</strong> and Presiding andPolling <strong>Officers</strong>:—(1) Copies of <strong>Electoral</strong> Rolls supplied to political parties and other should beIDENTICAL with the copy of the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll used at the polling booth <strong>for</strong>oaking the Poll.(2) Political parties should be supplied with all supplements due to additions,deletions, etc., made till the last date <strong>for</strong> making nomination and whilesupplying such supplements they should be clearly in<strong>for</strong>med in writing thatmother roll contains so many supplements of additions/deletions/corrections andthat the parties should incorporate the deletions and corrections in the motherroll of each part by scoring out the names of persons in the deletions andcorrections in correcting the entries found in the supplement relating to‘Corrections’. So far as inclusions are concerned, since their serial numbers arein continuation of the serial numbers in the original part of the <strong>Electoral</strong> Roll,such supplements relating to “INCLUSIONS” may be kept below the originalpart.(3) Each polling party should be supplied with 4 sets of the relevant part of the<strong>Electoral</strong> Roll relating to polling booths if the election is single election and 5sets if the election is simultaneous and all such sets shall be “IDENTICAL” inthe sense that each set shall—(a) have the deletions made in Red Ink in the basic roll;109
