• Information about the proposed sponsorship including:o Purpose of the event/activityo Members likely to attend the event/activityo Location of the event/activityo Guests/speakers of interest at the event/activityo Benefits of sponsoring the event/activity.• The sponsorship monies (or value of goods or services) being sought, andthe publicity or benefits the College agrees to provide the sponsor.• Information about RNZCGP where applicable.• A Confirmation of Sponsorship form or letter.A sponsorship agreement is a written document produced by RNZCGP outlining:• The funds, goods or services the sponsor agrees to provide.• The publicity, or benefits, RNZCGP agrees to provide.• The length of time the sponsorship is valid.• Any terms and conditions of the sponsorship.Key principlesThe structure of any sponsorship relationships will revolve around four key principles:TransparencyIt is important that any sponsorship agreement with a company is not seen as anendorsement of their product or organisation. This will be achieved by making therelationship transparent to the public and staff in both organisations.PartnershipIt is important for RNZCGP to form useful relationships with other organisations thatare positive for its membership and target audience. An active working partnershipcan enhance this relationship for both parties, and strengthen the task in hand.Mutual benefitIn contrast to passive donations RNZCGP is aware that both parties should gain froma sponsorship agreement.IndependenceIt is important that the independence of RNZCGP is not compromised by agreementswith external parties.
