Health and Safety Regulation AddendumAGMA and BSJ share a common interest in the health and safety <strong>of</strong> the ARTISTs. It is BSJ’sresponsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace and it is the ARTIST’s responsibility to work in asafe manner. Any Employee BSJ or AGMA on the scene has both the right and the obligation to bringany potential hazards to the attention <strong>of</strong> BSJ.The following list is presented for the purpose <strong>of</strong> informing the ARTISTs <strong>of</strong> the standards, which theymay expect, and to provide guidelines for the prevention <strong>of</strong> harmful situations. The ARTISTs shallnotify BSJ <strong>of</strong> any potentially dangerous situations by contacting the designated AGMA delegate(s) orArea Representative or Stage Management Staff or Human Resources as soon as possible. BSJ shallimmediately address any situation that poses imminent danger and shall, if necessary consult the JointCommittee in order to develop long term solutions to hazardous situation.A. General1) All rehearsal, performance, and dressing room areas, lavatory and toilet facilities shall bemaintained in a clean and sanitary condition and wet mopped and vacuumed regularly whenin use by Artist, with toilet, lavatories and showers sanitized regularly.2) BSJ shall provide for the extermination <strong>of</strong> rodents and insects when their presence is evident.3) In each theater where the ARTISTs shall perform there shall be one chair and mirror spaceper Performing ARTIST in each dressing room, as well as reasonably accessible toilet andwashing facilities backstage for both men and women.4) If hot water and shower facilities are not available, body make-up will not be required.5) All scenery shall be designed or modified, where necessary to include such safety measuresas handrails, luminous paint, etc. and such safety measures shall be present whenever suchscenery is used by ARTIST. Where not possible, AGMA shall be notified prior to the firstrehearsal or performance where such safety measure(s) are not present.6) All steps, ramps and platform edges and passageways, as well as on any wires or cordscrossing those passageways shall be visibly marked.7) BSJ agrees to make every effort to insure that all exits and passageways from theperformance are <strong>of</strong> the stage shall be free <strong>of</strong> scenery or any other obstruction at all times.8) Ice and first aid kits stocked with adequate supplies shall be available and easily accessible atall times to ARTISTs.9) BSJ shall prepare an evacuation plan, which shall be posted in appropriate places. AllARTISTs shall be assigned a “meeting place” to which they should go in the case <strong>of</strong> anevacuation <strong>of</strong> the building. All ARTISTs will be Informed <strong>of</strong> all emergency exit routes fromthe stage, or any out <strong>of</strong> house rehearsal/performance facility, at that ARTIST’s first rehearsalin that location.48
