2) Rehearsals during Rehearsal Weeksa) During Rehearsal Weeks the ARTIST may be called upon to rehearse not more thanthirty-five (35) hours per week including company class and not more than seven (7)hours including company class in any one (1) day. This arrangement will <strong>general</strong>ly occuras reflected below:9:30-11:00 Company ClassBreak – 11:00-11:10 AM Break11:10-1:30 Rehearsal Time (includes 10 minutes <strong>of</strong> appropriate break time)1:30-2:30 Lunch Break2:30-5:30 PM Rehearsal Time (includes 15 minutes <strong>of</strong> appropriate break time)b) The parties understand that the exact arrangement as set forth above may not occur ineach and every rehearsal day during a rehearsal week, however, any alterations to the<strong>general</strong> paradigm as set forth in this Section shall respect rest spans and maximumamount <strong>of</strong> consecutive artists activity that can be scheduled without a rest span and allother relevant Sections <strong>of</strong> this Basic Agreement. Emergency situations or any otherexigent circumstances shall not justify BSJ’s non-compliance with this Section.c) Any rehearsal may be called, counted, and compensated for in one-half (1/2) hourincrements. If the ARTIST is dismissed from rehearsal and is called for further rehearsalwithin one (1) hour <strong>of</strong> the time <strong>of</strong> such dismissal, then such intervening time betweendismissal and recall shall be counted as if the ARTIST had rehearsed.d) In the event that the ARTIST is called to rehearse at any time during a Free Day asdefined in Section III P, <strong>of</strong> this Basic Agreement, the ARTIST shall receive a ECApayment in addition to their hourly rate <strong>of</strong> pay, as per Section IV B 3, <strong>of</strong> this BasicAgreement for a minimum call <strong>of</strong> two (2) hours, unless that week has been converted to atheatre-pay week allowing for activity on a sixth day for the enhanced pay rate. ARTISTsshall be notified <strong>of</strong> such a change no later than one (1) week prior to such a change.e) The ARTIST may not be required to rehearse sooner than twelve (12) hours following theend <strong>of</strong> the last preceding rehearsal period. If the ARTIST is required to rehearse withinthe twelve (12) hour period, he/she shall for each applicable half (1/2) hour receiveOvertime as outlined in Section IV B 2, <strong>of</strong> this Basic Agreement in addition to his/herweekly rate <strong>of</strong> pay. During rehearsal weeks, BSJ recognizes and agrees to maintaincurrent practice as follows: Class and all rehearsals shall fall between 9:30 AM and5:30PM.f) The daily work span for Rehearsal Week shall be no more than eight (8) consecutivehours including lunch break.3) Rehearsals during Performance Weeks(a)(b)The ARTIST may be called upon to rehearse during each Performance Week withoutthe payment <strong>of</strong> additional compensation provided that:The ARTIST shall not be required to rehearse in excess <strong>of</strong> four (4) hours and fortyfive(45) minutes including Company Class and a one-half (1/2) hour break betweenrehearsal and performance, on a performance day.35
