d) ARTIST will not be required to travel to another place <strong>of</strong> rehearsal nor will costumefittings be scheduled during the one hour rest period.e) ARTISTs shall be given one 5-minute break during each one-hour rehearsal or one 10-minute break during each 90-minute rehearsal. In addition, sufficient time will beprovided for change <strong>of</strong> shoes, changing costumes, changing rehearsals and/or studiolocations.f) BSJ agrees that there shall be a minimum period <strong>of</strong> three (3) hours intervening betweenthe conclusion <strong>of</strong> any matinee performance and the commencement <strong>of</strong> the eveningperformance during which period the ARTIST may not be required to rehearse, traveland/or perform. However, there may be a two and one-half (2-1/2) hour time spanbetween performances when the total performance time from curtain up to curtain downis two and one-half (2-1/2) to three (3) hours and during NUTCRACKER seasons duringwhich the ARTIST may not be required to rehearse, travel or perform.g) ARTISTs must have one and one-half (1-1/2) hours <strong>of</strong>f between rehearsals called at two(2) different studio or theatre locations if such locations are more than one-half (1/2) mileaparth) All Dress Rehearsals or rehearsals requiring make-up must include a two (2) hours restinterval prior to the on-stage call for a Dress Rehearsal.i) The ARTIST shall not be required to rehearse within the two (2) hour period prior to onehalf(1/2) hour sign-in <strong>of</strong> any performance.j) There shall be a half (1/2) hour break between the end <strong>of</strong> a Company Class given duringan In Theater Rehearsal/Performance week and the start <strong>of</strong> the next rehearsal.k) During In-Theater Weeks, all ARTIST ACTIVITY shall take place from 12 noon to 12midnight. For any ARTIST ACTIVITY that occurs before 12 noon or after 12 midnightBSJ shall compensate each ARTIST involved in such work at the overtime rate in onehalf (½) hour increments.l) BSJ shall be allowed a three (3) minute grace period at the end <strong>of</strong> a rehearsal for thepurpose <strong>of</strong> finishing the run <strong>of</strong> a dance sequence. BSJ shall insure that each ARTISTreceives the total rest span he or she is owed at all times. If such grace period is exceededthen BSJ shall compensate each ARTIST involved the Overtime rate in half (1/2) hourincrements.5. In an In-Theater Rehearsal without costume the ARTISTs may decide to shorten or cancelthe 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM half-hour break by following the below procedure:a) Delegates shall ask the appropriate BSJ staff member if such change would be possiblein advance <strong>of</strong> when such change would be implemented.b) If BSJ confirms that such a change can be made the Delegates shall convene all ARTISTsinvolved for the purpose <strong>of</strong> taking a vote.33
