(g) 403(b)BSJ will make available to all ARTISTs who are engaged for fifteen (15) weeks or more,a 403(b) ARTIST-BSJ retirement fund. The ARTISTs contribution is always onehundred percent (100%) vested. New eligible ARTISTs are able to enroll in the plan onthe first day <strong>of</strong> the month <strong>of</strong> employment.2) LEAVES(a) Sick and Personal Leavei. BSJ agrees that all ARTISTs shall be given Sick/Personal Leave with full pay atthe rate <strong>of</strong> one (1) block for each week <strong>of</strong> employment, during any contract year.ii.iii.iv.For the purpose <strong>of</strong> calculating Sick/Personal Days each day shall be divided intothree (3) blocks <strong>of</strong> time; Company Class = first block, end <strong>of</strong> class to lunch break= second block; After lunch break to end <strong>of</strong> day = third block. SickLeave/Personal Days = twenty-seven (27) blocks (9 days). Once ARTIST hasexhausted all <strong>of</strong> his/her Sick and Personal Leave, BSJ may deduct a pro-ratedamount <strong>of</strong> the ARTISTs’ base weekly compensation for any additional timemissed. Unused Sick and Personal leave shall not carry over to the next contractyear.Except in cases <strong>of</strong> emergency, on any day that ARTIST will be unable to attendany rehearsal, due to illness, injury or other unforeseen circumstance, ARTISTshall make best efforts to inform BSJ <strong>of</strong> his/her absence as soon as possible, bythe start <strong>of</strong> Company Class for that day or three (3) hours prior to the first ArtistActivity for which he/she is required to attend (if no Company Class isscheduled), whichever is later. Such notification shall be made by phone only tothe Stage Management <strong>of</strong>fice, at the studios or theater, as appropriate. If ARTISTfails to inform BSJ within the time frame set forth herein then BSJ shall deductone (1) block <strong>of</strong> time from such ARTIST’s sick-leave allotment as set forth inparagraph ii. above, in addition to the total amount <strong>of</strong> time ARTIST is absent.Notice for use <strong>of</strong> personal time: ARTISTs shall conduct personal or privateinterests or business only during non-company time. If unable to do so dancershall provide 2 working days notice to Company, by means <strong>of</strong> filling out aSick/Personal Time slip and turning it into stage management. The ARTIST shallindicate on the slip the date and time <strong>of</strong> the anticipated absence, unless preventedfrom doing so by reason <strong>of</strong> an emergency. No such absence shall be denied,provided that such absence does not contravene the <strong>provisions</strong> set forth inIV.E.2.a.i and IV.E.2.a.iv. If such occurrence does occur (excluding illness orinjury) BSJ shall deduct block(s) equivalent to those blocks missed plus one (1)additional Sick/Personal Time block from individual ARTIST’s allowance.v. An ARTIST shall not take a Personal Day in an In-Theater week. An ARTISTshall give the Artistic Director at least one (1) week’s notice <strong>of</strong> his/her intention totake a Personal Day during one (1) week prior to an In-Theater week. Suchrequirements will not apply to absences taken due to illness or injury.27
