Valve BodyTestingAll valve bodies are tested for proper shift points and correct shift pressure onour state-of-the-art Axiline test stand.The World and 1k/2k product lines are also tested for proper solenoid andwiring harness functions. This testing guarantees proper shift quality at thedyno testing and in the customer’s vehicle.THE WELLER REMAN NETWORK17

CHECKSCold CheckThe purpose of the Cold Check is to determine if the transmission has enough fluid to besafely operated until a hot check can be made.CAUTION: The fluid level rises as fluid temperature increases. DO NOT fill above the “COLD RUN” bandif the transmission fluid is below normal operating temperatures.• Park the vehicle on a level surface. Apply the parking brake, and chock the wheels.• Run the engine for at least one minute. Shift to D (Drive) and then to R (Reverse) to clear the hydrauliccircuits of air. Then shift to N (Neutral) and allow the engine to idle (500-800 rpm).• Insert the dipstick into the tube and remove. Check the fluid level reading. Repeat the check procedureto verify the reading.• If the fluid level is within the “COLD RUN” band, the transmission may be operated until the fluid is hotenough to perform a “HOT RUN” check. If the fluid level is not within the “COLD RUN” band, add ordrain as necessary to bring it to the middle of the “COLD RUN” band.• Perform a hot check as soon as the normal operating temperature of 160-200°F (71-93°C) is reached.Hot CheckCAUTION: The transmission fluid must be hot to ensure an accurate check. The fluid level rises astemperature increases.• Operate the transmission in D (Drive) until normal operating temperature is reached:160-200°F (71-93°C) sump temperature180-220°F (82-104°C) converter-out temperature• Park the vehicle on a level surface and shift to N (Neutral). Apply the parking brake, and the chock thewheels. Allow the engine to idle.• With the engine running, remove the dipstick from the tube and wipe it clean.• Insert the dipstick into the tube and remove. Check fluid level reading. Repeat the check procedure toverify the reading.• If the fluid level is not within the “HOT RUN” band, add or drain as necessary to bring the fluid level towithin the “HOT RUN” band.• Always check the fluid level at least twice and with the engine running. Consistency is important tomaintain the accuracy of the reading. If inconsistent reading persists, check the transmission breatherto be sure it is clean and unclogged.THE WELLER REMAN NETWORK18

Units installed as replacements under thiswarranty are warranted only for the remainder of the original warrantyperiod.This warranty shall not extend to failures or damage due to improperlubrication or operation in excess of original design limitations, failure tofollow normal published preventive maintenance guidelines of the O.E.M.,abuse or damage by improper installation, casualty or shipment.This warranty shall not extend to repairs for noise (including idle rattle),excessive operating temperature, transmission rear seal leakage, nor doesit cover failures caused by engine, clutch, driveline; including transmissionsynchronizer pin breakage, or other truck components or system.This warranty does not cover failures caused by a worn, damaged ordefective part or component mounted to the unit by the dealer or retailpurchaser, including without limitation, the transmission end yoke.All warranty claims shall be made to Weller and shall be supported bysatisfactory evidence in respect of the conditions stated herein. WELLER WARRANTYWarrantyAll manual and automatic transmissions anddifferentials are warranted by Weller for one year, unlimitedmileage.It is essential that Weller is contacted before the unit isremoved from the vehicle for warranty. Weller’s technicianwill assist in troubleshooting the problem.
