Polymastiamamillaris (type species of the genus) differs from the otherspecies by the shape and size of ectosomal spicules, and thethinness of the collagenous layer. Polymastia mamillaris andP. arctica share the presence of a layer of groups of ectosomalspicules at the limit of the choanosome (Morrow and Boury-
