DEPARTMENT OF NAVYNAVY WORKING CAPITAL FUNDMARINE CORPS DEPOT MAINTENANCEMARINE CORPS DEPOT MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY GROUPFISCAL YEAR (FY) 2012 BUDGET ESTIMATESFebruary 2011Activity Group Functions:The mission of the Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG) to provide quality productsand responsive maintenance support services required to maintain a core industrial base insupport of mobilization, surge and reconstitution requirements. The maintenance functions,performed by the DMAG include repair, rebuild, modification, and Inspect and Repair Only asNecessary (IROAN) for all types of ground combat and combat support equipment. MarineCorps, other Department of Defense (DOD) activities, as well as Foreign Military Sales (FMS)customers utilize the DMAG maintenance services. Performance of maintenance relatedservices such as preservation, testing, technical evaluation, calibration, and fabrication ofautomated test equipment are examples of other functions performed.Activity Group Composition:ActivitiesMC Maintenance CenterMC Maintenance CenterLocationAlbany, GABarstow, CASignificant Changes in Activity Group:There are no significant changes in the activity group or composition since the FY 2011President’s Budget.Special Interest ItemsConsistent with estimates in the FY 2011 President’s Budget, the impact of Base Realignmentand Closure (BRAC) 2005 Recommendation #57 and #177 Marine Corps depot maintenanceoperations are reflected in this budget. BRAC Recommendation #57 disestablishes andconsolidates specified workload to Anniston Army Depot, AL and Letterkenny Army Depot,PA. The Supply, Storage, and Distribution Management Reconfiguration BRACRecommendation #177 also impacts the Marine Corps depot maintenance operations. Therecommendation realigns Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA and Barstow, CA, byconsolidating the supply, storage, and distribution functions and associated inventories.Exhibit Narrative
