BTT prepares for large vesselsOctober 3, Botlek Tank Terminal started drivingnew mooring piles at its jetty. The water depth iscurrently being increased from 13.65 to 15 metres,so that BTT will be capable <strong>of</strong> receiving vesselswith a draught <strong>of</strong> up to 115,000 DWT. The lot <strong>of</strong> land is situatedeast <strong>of</strong> the current terminal area and encompassesabout 15,000 m2, which correspond to an increasein storage capacity <strong>of</strong> 1,000 TEU. The expansion <strong>of</strong>the terminal also strengthens <strong>Rotterdam</strong> asplastics hub. The expansion should be completedby the end <strong>of</strong> this year.
