PendingIntroductionThe Trans/Shield Damper completewith 18 gauge stainless steel flangedbacking sleeve and matchingTransfer Grilles can be readilyaccommodated in half-hour fire rated44mm thick and 1 hour fire rated54mm thick doors as well as firerated dry wall/partitions.SpecificationThe Trans/Shield Dampers compriseof flanged 18 gauge stainless steelSliding Seal and Static Damper Plateswith horizontal perforations to provide,whilst the Seal Plate is in the openposition, a free area of not less thanthat of the matching Transfer Grilles,for the passage and transfer ofventilation air in either direction. TheDamper Sliding Seal Plate fail-safe tothe instant closed position, either bythe melting and parting of anattached Fusible Link at atemperature of 72 °C, or thefunctioning of the relevant Releaseand Reset Mechanism to maintainintegrity and not permit the passageof flame when exposed to thetime/temperature curve of BS476Part: 20 1987 for a period of twohours.Both Damper Plates together with aremovable Release and ResetMechanism Cassette are housedwithin an 18 gauge stainless steelslimline Damper Casing havingintegral flanges with prepunchedfixing holes.The Cassette has screw fixing forease of attachment to and withdrawalfrom the Damper Static Plate withoutdisturbance to the Damper andrecessed from view but readilyaccessible, a Release Lever andResetting Shaft, both manuallyoperated, and a spring loadedDamper Set and Status Pin which inthe exposed position to provide visualindication of Damper status. TheCassette contains either of twointerchangeable and replaceableRelease and Reset Mechanisms.Control optionsControl Mode 1 Manual ReleaseFusible Link shall actuate the instantclosure of the Damper due to anabnormal rise in temperature.Control Mode 2 Manual andElectro Magnet ReleaseA 24 Volt D.C. Electro Magnet shallactuate the instant closure of theDamper when the electrical supply isinterrupted, either as a function of aSmoke Detector System or due tofailure of the electrical supply and inboth events, before the operation ofthe Fusible Link due to an abnormalrise in temperature or a full firecondition occurs.Each Trans/Shield Damper iscomplete with 18 gauge stainlesssteel flanged backing sleeve and apair of specially designed matchingnon vision Transfer Grilles with radiusedges, countersunk fixing holes andconstructed in 18 gauge galvanisedmild steel finished in PolyesterPowder coat to RAL 8025 glossbrown.
