Aproposof the extended strike for shortening analready short work week which has recentlydisrupted the printing industry throughout thecountry, a statement of its labor policy maynot be amiss at this time.It is the ambition of the publishers thatThe Lakeside Press shallbecome a peculiarinstitution in the printing industry; one inwhich its work shall be carried on in the spiritof the highest traditions of the art and, bya contented and permanent organization ofexecutives and workmen.The Lakeside Press is neither a union noran open shop; it is honestly non-union. Themanagement of a great industry occupies theposition of a trustee both to the public andto its employees.
