Please rememberthat all Primary School children go outsidefor recesses, and they need to bedressed for the weather. If you haven’tsent your child with a hood or hat oncold or rainy days, they will notice itwhen they get outside. Teachers onrecess duty want to keep your childrensafe and healthy. When it is rainy orcold, we have a rule—nothing on thehead, stay under the shed. It is almostalways fun to be outside when there istime and space for play, no matter theweather. It isn’t the weather outside thatcauses us to catch a cold, most likely theopposite. While outside, the children getfresh air, move about and stay warmfrom that movement. Sitting back inclass and getting chilled from wetclothes or a wet head can contribute toheat loss. Dressing sensibly for theweather only helps the children enjoythe outdoors more.Parent-Teacher ConferencesThank you for your time and interest atour recent parent-teacher conferences. Iextend my thanks to the teachers whotake time every school day to work withyour children and keep you informed ofyour children’s progress.Primary School MusicalJoin us for a pantomime of Red RidingHood, November 24-26. Students andteachers have been working hard—jointhe fun.Primary School Winter ConcertPlease plan to have your children atschool by 18:10, Thursday, December1, for the Primary School concert. Theconcert will start at 18:30 and end atabout 19:15.SafetyWhile bus drivers take responsibility forsafety on the buses, they can’t fasteneveryone’s seatbelt. The bus companyhas asked to remind students they haveresponsibility for sitting in a seat to staysafe. The bus drivers have reported that10
11 November, 2005 The InformerPrimary School Newssome students move toward the front ofthe bus when these seats are vacated.Whenever you stand while a bus is moving,you put yourself in a dangerousposition.
