Step 1 - RegisterGo to our website:www.gloshomeseeker.co.ukFill in an application formWrite in all about you:• Your name• Date of birth• National Insurance Number• Where you live• Name of your support workerYou might need help fromyour support worker4


Step 2 - BandingThis is how we look at your needfor a homeThe council will check yourapplicationThen you will be put into abandYour Band = Your Housing Need5


Step 3 - View advertsTo find a home you like, you will need tolook for properties every week:on the website atwww.gloshomeseeker.co.ukor at homeor in the Libraryor you can look in the newsletterstooor you can ask the council for anewsletter6


Step 4 - Bidding for a homeIf you find a property you like, you willwant to ask for it. We call this bidding.You can bid for a property in lots of ways:Bid on the websitewww.gloshomeseeker.co.ukBid on the telephoneBid by text messageYou might need help fromyour support workerThe deadline for bidding is11.59pm on Tuesdays.If you ask after this time it is too late andyou will have to ask again next week fornew properties.7


Step 5 - Offer of a homeIf you are at the top of the list,you will be contacted so youcan see the property with thelandlord.If you like it you will beoffered the property.If you do not like the property, or you are not offeredthe property, you will need to try again next week.Properties will usually beoffered to the applicant in thehighest band, who has beenwaiting the longest in thatband, and who is suitable forthe property in the advert.If you need helpplease ask yourcouncil, or ask yoursupport worker.8
